In a Shark Tank India Season 3 episode, director Raj Madiraju and producer Umamaheshwar Ch from Hyderabad pitched their movie project titled “$Krishnrama.” They sought an investment of Rs 2 crore in exchange for a 30% stake in the film, which serves as a sequel to the 2023 film “Krishnarama.”

During the pitch discussion, Anupam Mittal expressed gratitude to the producers for appearing on the show, stating that it brought back nostalgic memories for him. He said:
”Nobody makes money in this business. Today Raj and DK have become Bollywood’s biggest directors, amongst the top, and they had pitched me a film that was exactly this. We actually made the film in the US. And they are also Telugu and Tamil. And from there we went on to make another film as well. Raj and DK became the top Bollywood directors but I lost all the money here.”
This amused all the judges, with Namita Thapar particularly seen bursting into laughter at Mittal’s humorous account of losing his investment.

Anupam Mittal further added: ”I studied about this industry a lot thereafter. And I understood that the existing people in the industry who have been producing films for a long time, they are also in heavy debts but they still keep producing”.
Anupam Mittal also clarified that he didn’t consider himself scammed because Raj & DK were also inexperienced at the time, describing them as “naive”. The Shaadi.com founder admitted to losing “a few crores” in the venture.
