Watch: UP Police Beat A Member Of Karni Seni. And Twitterati Can’t Stop Praising Their Effort

‘Padmaavat’ is out in the theatres and the members of Karni Sena, Rajputs and other right wing groups have upscaled their protest. From vandalising malls and theatres to targeting school kids’ bus, there is a widespread tension in the country.

Right from the days of its shoot, ‘Padmaavat’ has been one of the most controversial issues in India. It all started when the members of Karni Sena slapped the director of ‘Padmaavat’ Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the state of Rajasthan.

It was after a series of protests and violent demonstration that the name of the movie was changed for ‘Padmavati’ to ‘Padmavat’ and many cuts were also implemented by the censor board.

However, hundreds of members of the protesters’  group are still carrying out violent protests in many parts of the country. If media reports are to be believed, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

But, recently, a video of two Uttar Pradesh cops beating a protestor with sticks has gone viral. In a report published by Jansatta, in a theatre situated in Lucknow two police officers, one in uniform and the other one in casuals caught hold of a protestor who was trying to vandalise the property and dragged him out of the theatre by beating his their sticks.

The video was uploaded by a Twitter user named Vijaita Singh. Have a look, here:
