India’s content creator economy is valued between $75 and $150 million, experiencing a remarkable 40% hourly growth in YouTube content as of December 2022, contributing an impressive Rs 16,000 crore to the Indian GDP. This translates to supporting approximately 7.5 lakh full-time jobs. Forecasts from a marketing insights agency suggest that the Indian creator economy market is set to exceed $3926.2 million by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 22%.
Notably, some of the top content creators on platforms like YouTube have transitioned into Bollywood, while others have secured lucrative brand deals.
But what exactly is their net worth? An agency has provided estimates for the net worth of some of the most popular Indian content creators with substantial followings. According to the data, comedian CarryMinati (Ajey Nagar) has a net worth of Rs 50 crore. Following closely is influencer and podcaster BeerBiceps (Ranveer Allahbadia), with a net worth of Rs 59 crore.
Bhuvan Bam, renowned for BB Ki Vines, holds the third spot with a net worth of Rs 122 crore. Gaurav Chaudhari, also known as Technical Guruji, boasts a net worth of Rs 356 crore.
Meanwhile, Tanmay Bhat, a stand-up comic, crypto investor, and the mastermind behind viral CRED and Bold Care ads, leads the pack with a net worth of Rs 665 crore.
Responding to a Twitter post, Bhat humorously remarked, “Imagine doing IQOO meme nights and making 600 crore!”
Tanmay Bhat, aged 36, hailed as the new creative king of Indian advertising, founded All India Bakchod (AIB) as a YouTube channel in 2013.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he returned to the platform with renewed vigor, creating fresh content, predominantly streaming games, and reacting to Indian memes with friends. A year earlier, he faced criticism for allegedly not taking action against a colleague during the 2018 #metoo movement on Twitter.
