A woman in Mumbai was horrified to discover a dead insect in her Burger King order. She expressed her disappointment on Instagram, sharing a video of the incident that quickly went viral.
The Instagram user, known as ‘chikatalks,’ posted a reel showing a close-up of the insect inside her burger.
She voiced her disgust, stating,
“I feel like vomiting right now, but I wanted to report this issue.” She further lamented, “If brands like Burger King are going to do this, I don’t know where to eat anymore.”
In her caption, she detailed,
“This store was located in Mumbai and my double patty veggie burger had a dead insect inside it. This raises safety issues for all of us and also questions our reliance on huge brands which cannot ensure their franchises’ standards. I demand an apology for the risk to my health and safety; I had consumed half the burger.”
The video sparked public outrage, with comments urging legal action against Burger King India.

The video quickly went viral and netizens are furious.
“Never expected this from you @burgerkingindia,” commented one user. “Case kar. Lawsuit file kar. 50L maang loo. Life pe risk tha bol de, get a lawyer. Sue them,” suggested another.
This incident echoes a similar one from July 2014, when Sandeep Saxena from East Delhi found an insect in his McDonald’s McAloo Tikki burger. Saxena fell ill and his complaint led to the burger being declared unsafe by the Food Safety and Medicine Administration. The district forum later ordered McDonald’s to compensate Saxena for his treatment and the mental agony he endured.
