One of the largest film industries in the world is the Indian Film Industry. The Indian Film Industry, more preferably, The Bollywood Film Industry has prevailed for over 100 years and has entertained the audience with comedy, suspense, action, etc.

This Industry has created many benchmarks and unbreakable records, of which some of them are appreciated and the others have gone unrecognized. For some years the ‘Guinness Book Of World Records’, has granted few achievements made by India, Bollywood and the film personalities.


The following are 11 such ‘Guinness World Records’ clenched by the Bollywood movies and the celebrities for their respective achievements:

1. In the year 2011, Asha Bhosle, the renowned female singer was conceded as the most recorded artist in the history.She has recorded over 11k songs in solo, duets and chorus in 20 distinct languages since the independence of India.


2. Kapoor family is known for ruling the Bollywood. This acting family holds a Guinness world record for assigning 24 actors to the Bollywood industry.

3.  Hrithik Roshan’s debut film,“Kaho Naa Pyaar Hain” along with Amisha Patel was the biggest blockbuster in the year 2000. This movie won 92 awards, which made it responsible for engraving its name in the Guinness World Record Book.

4. ”Yaadein”, a Bollywood movie back in 1964, has enrolled its name in the Guinness Book of World Records because of the least number of actors and  that the movie consisted of only a single actor except for Nargis, who played a negligible role.

5.  “Bahubali, The Beginning” movie holds the record for making the largest poster, which was approximately about 4793.65 square meters.

6.  Kumar Sanu, the melody king of Bollywood, has grasped a world record in the year 1993, by recording 28 songs in a single day.   

7.  In the year 2009, The Indian film industry made a world record by producing 1288 movies in 24 distinct languages.

8. Amitabh Bachchan, an eminent Bollywood actor created a Guinness world record for becoming the one and only celebrity to sing the religious ‘Shri Hanuman Chalisa’ with 19 other famous singers.

9.  During his promotions for the movie “Delhi-6”, in the year 2009 actor, Abhishek Bachchan holds a record for making the highest number of public appearances at 5 different cities in only 12 hours.

10. Ashok Kumar, a legendary actor, affectionately known as ‘Dadamoni’ found himself in the Guinness Book of world records for contributing 63 years to the Bollywood industry and capturing most of the leading roles.

11.The production of the movie “Love and God (Kais Aur Laila)” was started in the year 1963 and was released in 1986. This 23 years of production period made the movie responsible for achieving a world record.
