Actor Emraan Hashmi has been out of the limelight for quite some time now and has been involved more with his family and other activities rather than appearing in films. The actor also appeared in the Netflix web series “Bard of Blood” and his performance was much appreciated in the first season. In a recent interview, he opened up about his take on the issue of nepotism, which has taken the Bollywood film industry by storm since the death of the popular actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Hashmi, in the interview, said that he would want his son to carry on his legacy if he takes up acting as his career option in the future. He said, “If I want to carry my legacy forward, I would want my son to do it. Why would I give it to someone else?” He also added, “I would tell him to give two hoots about who says what.”
The untimely demise of Sushant Singh Rajput has brought a lot of doubt in the policy of the selection of star kids over the “outsiders” in Bollywood. It has put under pressure a number of eminent personalities in the Bollywood film industry including the likes of producers and directors like Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Mahesh Bhatt. Now it is to be seen whether Emraan Hashmi’s take on this debate ignites more controversy or not.
