In a startling revelation, it was divulged that Salman Khan was asked to play the brother of Aishwariya Rai in Josh. In the early 2000s, the duo hogged the limelight for their blooming relationship which was the talk of the industry at that point in time. Salman was madly in love with his co-star in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, Aishwariya and the lady reciprocated the same emotions.
Their relationship consolidated while the shooting for ‘Hum Dil de chukey’ continued and it was later hailed as one of the best movies of the eras. This was simply the beginning of the amazing chemistry in reel and real life of the duo as many further offers were handed over to them in the upcoming days.
Now Bollywood thrives on controversies and to make life a bit spicy, one renowned filmmaker thought that the chemistry of Salman and Aishwariya can actually be exploited from a different angle altogether which would portray Salman Khan as Aishwariya’s brother and this plot was hatched for Josh.
According to IBT time, Josh director, Mansoor Khan offered the role of Aishwariya’s brother to Salman, leaving the Sultan lead actor in utter disbelief. Salman expressed surprise and incredulity at this weird idea of playing the brother to his flame and finally the role rolled on to Shahrukh Khan.
In an interview, Aishwariya stated, “I think the cast was meant to be Aamir Khan and Salman Khan at one point and eventually it became Shah Rukh and I think Aamir at some point was to play Chandrachur (Singh)’s role. So the cast kept changing at different points in time. So I had said yes to Mansoor.”
However, the current situation has sent them poles apart as the two drew considerable fire after the break-up as Bollywood has hardly seemed so bitter.
