In the wake of the unfortunate and inopportune demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, the 34-year-old actor, who took his life a few days back, a lot of dark secrets of the industry have been revealed since then. With depression still being a glaring social stigma, especially in the glittering industry of Bollywood, where the audience believes that everything moves slicker than a knife in the butter, struggling actors find it difficult to come out in public about their frayed mental health.

At times they are so consumed by this monster called depression who comes in varied shape and sizes and in different apparitions that these celebrities decide to quell their life force once and for all to avert further pain. Being an outsider, Manoj Bajpayee had to go through some crazy struggle in the initial days of his career. Things went to such an extent that the Gangs of Wasseypur actor decided to end his life. However, before he called it quits, his talent got realized by Bollywood and he was shortly kissing the stars with one masterpiece after the other. However, his movies are always away from the mainstream as he tries to relay a social message for the world through his artistic renditions.

2. Sabyasachi Mukherjee

One of the most illustrious fashion designers of Bollywood, who doesn’t need an introduction anymore, Sabyasachi couldn’t come to grips with the austere stories of the industry and out of depression wanted to bid adieu to his life at a tender age of 17. Despite attempting suicide, he survived and shortly turned the tide in his favour with his remarkable works.

3. Sapna Chowdhury

Known as the Anarkali of Haryana, Sapna Chowdhury had a near encounter with death when she attempted suicide, unable to battle with depression anymore. One of the major reasons this unfortunate decision of hers were a few bullies on social media who tried to defame her using unscrupulous means.


4. Shaheen Bhatt

Daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and sister of Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt clearly penned down in her autobiography, “I have never been (un)happier” that she even attempted suicide after her inability to battle the monster was accentuation itself more.

5. Shama Sikander

This stunning diva of Bollywood has confessed to the fact that when she was struggling with ailments like Bipolar Disorder, she even wanted to end her life once and for all. She also stated that her career and love life were extremely complicated and troublesome which made her feel down the drain.
