Nepotism in Bollywood has been the longest never ending debate. While the major chunk is carrying on the legacy of their fathers and grandfathers, once in a blue moon, the common man has also had a chance to make it big in Bollywood.

Bangalore born, Deepika Padukone was playing Badminton at a National Level, before she started modeling. She got her big break as the main protagonist opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan in his big budget movie ‘Om Shanti Om’. She was an instant hit and immediately got other major projects.
2.Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan began her career as a model and after winning the 1994 Miss World pageant, she was bombarded with multiple offers on the account of her beauty and talent. There has been no looking back since. She is not only famous in her country but has a wide fan following all across the globe.
The people of Himachal Pradesh are known for their good looks and Kangana Ranaut is no exception. However, Kangana is not just pretty but also talented. She began her career with Anurag Basu’s Gangster and has only improved since then. She has played several iconic characters in movies like Queen and Tanu Weds Manu. She is also known for her bold fearless statements on topics including but not limited to nepotism.
Priyanka Chopra’s dad was in the army and she had no plans for being in the spotlight until her mother signed her for the Femina Miss India contest. Priyanka went on to win the contest and was offered roles in movies and advertisements. After establishing her brand in Bollywood, she did not stop and went on to release two international singles and also acted in the famous international TV show “Quantico” which made her popular across the globe. She is also married to international singer Nick Jonas and is now rumored to be doing multiple Hollywood projects.
5.Shah Rukh Khan
Shahrukh Khan made his TV debut with a show called ‘Fauji’ and his Bollywood debut with the hit film ‘Deewana’ in 1992 and won the Filmfare Award for the best debutant. King Khan has since then done hundreds of films and even has his production house now. He has also given several other actors who had no industry background like him including Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone their successful debuts.
An army kid like Priyanka Chopra, Amritsar born Akshay Kumar also had no connections to the industry until he decided to do modelling to pay his bills. He signed his first movie “Deedar” and that is how he got his big break. later moving to Delhi & Mumbai. Akshay is famous for his action scenes in his thought provoking movies about patriotism and such which can be attributed to his black belt in Taekwondo.
7. John Abraham
Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao has more charm than looks and his voice delivery is something other well established actors can only desire for. Known for doing offbeat films with strong messages and very authentic backgrounds, Rao got his first break in the hit film ‘Shahid’. He has a theater background and therefore went on to do amazing roles like the lead actor in the hit film Queen opposite actress Kangana Ranaut.
Uttar Pradesh born Nawazuddin, worked as a chemist in his city before he started his struggle for breaking into Bollywood. Each movie he worked in has only been better than the last. He is most popular for movies such as ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ ,‘Black Friday’ and ‘Patang’.
