Vintage MS Dhoni Hits Bullseye To Dismiss Anuj Rawat In IPL 2024 Opener
Chennai Super Kings, after being asked to bowl first by Faf du Plessis, restricted Royal Challengers Bangalore to 173 runs. The Chennai bowlers took control of the game by dismissing the top 5 RCB batters early in the innings.
Despite RCB’s quick start, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s team tightened their grip on the match, limiting RCB to 78/5 by the 12th over.
Mustafizur Rahman emerged as the standout performer, claiming four wickets for just 30 runs. Despite a challenging situation in the middle overs, RCB fought back hard. Dinesh Karthik and Anuj Rawat showed resilience, forming a crucial partnership of 95 runs to rescue the team. They accelerated their scoring in the final three overs of the match, enabling RCB to reach a total of 173/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
MS Dhoni’s reflexes in the game earned praise from fans and experts alike. In addition to his brilliant run-out, Dhoni also managed to stop a few balls to his left side that kept low on the Chennai pitch. Former cricketers Ian Bishop and Sanjay Manjrekar were among those who commended the former India captain.
“Good work MS, still got it,” remarked Ian Bishop while commentating on the run-out.
“Deep-rooted in his blood, rarely gets it wrong. Under-arm, focused on the stumps because he is calm. I am sure he would not have practised this,” Sanjay Manjrekar added while commentating in the same panel.
