Rohit Sharma is gaining popularity for his unique style. Unlike the previous Indian captain Virat Kohli, Rohit tends to show his emotions openly, though he’s more calm than aggressive. During Day 1 of the India vs England 4th Test in Ranchi, Rohit displayed a similar demeanor.
After taking down half of England’s batting lineup, the Indian cricket team seemed to have a firm grip on the match. However, Joe Root and Ben Foakes, through their partnership, started to stabilize England’s innings. Their partnership, which amounted to an 85-run stand, began to pose a challenge for Rohit Sharma and the rest of the Indian team, adding a layer of frustration to their efforts.
Rohit Sharma Got Angry At The Cameraman For Focusing On Him During DRS
In the 60th over, Ravindra Jadeja bowled a delivery that hit Ben Foakes on the pads. The Indian team appealed for a leg-before-wicket (LBW) decision, but the umpire ruled it not out. Despite this, Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, decided to review the decision.
As the tension grew, the cameraman chose to focus on Rohit instead of showing the Decision Review System (DRS) on the big screen, which annoyed the skipper.

Rohit Sharma’s recent encounter with the cameraman isn’t his first viral moment. His reaction to being displayed on the big screen is not uncommon. A similar incident took place during India’s 2023 Nagpur Test against Australia. Then, Rohit requested the cameraman to halt filming him and instead concentrate on the DRS review for Peter Handscomb’s dismissal.

Former England opener Nick Knight, commenting alongside Sunil Gavaskar, echoed Rohit’s feelings, emphasizing the need to focus on the DRS review rather than individual players. Despite England’s strong partnership of 113 runs, India found hope when Mohammed Siraj dismissed Foakes and Tom Hartley. However, with Joe Root still at the crease, India’s decreasing number of reviews could be crucial in the remainder of the innings.
