Shark Tank’s Amit Jain Revealed That They Issue Fake Cheques To Pitchers
Amit Jain joined the panel of Shark Tank India in its second season and has gained popularity for his witty remarks and positive attitude towards pitchers. For those unfamiliar, Amit Jain is the Co-Founder and CEO of BikeDekho, CarDekho, and GirnarSoft. Recently, the businessman shared some intriguing behind-the-scenes insights about the show.
During an interview with Bhanu Pathak, Amit Jain disclosed that the business deals made on the show are completely genuine, but the checks presented on the show are not real. When asked whether they provide sponsorship or financial support to the pitchers during the show itself, Amit Jain revealed: “Woh cheque toh nakli hote hai bhai!”
The investor clarified that the checks shown on the show are props specially made for the episodes and not linked to their bank accounts. They’re customized with the investor’s company name and details. He added:
“Woh symbolic cheque hote hai. It’s not linked to my account. It has the format made by Shark Tank. It’s personalised, the company name is there, my signature, my amount but not my bank account! The cheque signifies that a deal has happened. Then the due diligence happens, papers are called, whatever you said on the show will be verified.”
Amit Jain disclosed that behind the scenes, they are not competitors, so they have a great rapport. Namita takes on the role of the group’s mother, bringing food for everyone, while Aman brings his speakers, and they all enjoy themselves during breaks between shoots. He said:
“Namita (Thapar) gets her home cooked food. She’s like the ‘mother’ in the group. So we munch on her food, there’s a small pantry. It’s a small area but there’s a lot of fun that keep happening. Dance, music, Aman (Gupta) gets his speakers, plays music on full volume and people dance. On the show you’re competing, not when you’re in the lounge.”
