On the latest episode of Shark Tank India 3, the panel of sharks found themselves taken aback as they discovered striking parallels between the narrative of startup pitcher Anish and Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic character in Swades.
Ronnie Screwvala, who joined the panel this season and was also the producer of the 2004 film, was particularly impressed by the resemblance.
Anupam Mittal couldn’t help but draw comparisons, remarking,
“Why do I feel like I’m witnessing an extended version of Swades?”
Reflecting on his experience with the film, Ronnie commented, “
At the time of its release, it was considered
‘ahead of its time.’ Now, I believe its time has arrived.”
Swades, often lauded as ‘ahead of its time,’ left a lasting impact, becoming an iconic film of the 2000s.
The narrative revolves around an NRI who rediscovers his roots and decides to contribute to his homeland.
Similarly, Anish shared his journey, revealing his decision to leave a lucrative job in New York after feeling a void in his life. Returning to India, he embarked on a mission to utilize his privilege for positive change.
