TV actress Sargun Mehta recently shared her story of turning down several opportunities to meet Shah Rukh Khan in person. Despite being an ardent admirer of the iconic actor, Mehta opted for hard work rather than an easy encounter with her idol.
Her decision not only reflects her dedication but also serves as an inspiration for others to strive for their dreams with perseverance.
During an interview with Connect FM Canada, Sargun Mehta disclosed that she had multiple chances to meet Shah Rukh Khan but consciously declined them.
Bohot baar mauka mila. Ravi ke saath Shah Rukh sir ne 2-3 baar shoot kiya hai on a show. Toh Ravi ne kaha ‘Kal Shah Rukh Khan aa raha hai mere set pe’ but I didn’t go,”
“I had many chances. Shah Rukh sir had shot with Ravi (her husband, TV actor Ravi Dubey) a few times on a show. So Ravi would say, ‘Shah Rukh Khan is coming tomorrow to my set,’ but I didn’t go,”
she shared, referring to her husband’s experiences.

She further elaborated,
”Dilwale was the second time Shah Rukh came on Ravi’s set. Uss din bhi jab main nahi gayi toh unhone Shah Rukh sir ko bola ‘My wife loves you but woh aapse milenge nahi jab tak woh aapke saath kaam nahi karti’ ”.
“During ‘Dilwale,’ Shah Rukh visited Ravi’s set again. Even then, when I didn’t go, Ravi conveyed to Shah Rukh sir, ‘My wife loves you, but she won’t meet you until she works with you.'”
Ravi Dubey, being the supportive spouse he is, conveyed her message to SRK.
Sargun revealed,
So I have a video jisme Shah Rukh sir apni gaadi me baithne wali hai he’s like ‘Record something’ and he said, “Main bohot jald aapke saath kaam karunga and wishing and hoping that this comes true for you and we work together”. I have that video,”
“So, I have a video in which Shah Rukh sir is about to get into his car and he says, ‘Record something.’ He then expressed, ‘I will work with you very soon,’ wishing and hoping for our collaboration.”
She expressed her gratitude for possessing such a video clip.
In the interview, Mehta confessed her long-standing admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, which dates back to her childhood and served as the impetus for her acting career. She also mentioned how her friends were aware of her intense fandom for SRK, stating,
”I could not accept if somebody did not like Shah Rukh Khan,’
Now, as Sargun Mehta achieves success in her own right as a TV actress, her desire to meet Shah Rukh Khan is solely for the purpose of collaborating with him.
”Main ab tak dimaag me leke chalti hu ki jiss din announcement karni hogi uss din woh video se karungi. Itna mera manifestation ka pagalpan hai. And kuch sapne hote hai woh sirf tabhi ache lagte hai jab woh purna roop se pure ho. Woh adhoore pure ho ya autograph, photograph se pure ho toh unki purnata mehsoos nahi hoti,”
“I carry the thought in my mind that I will make the announcement with that video on the day it happens. That’s how crazy my manifestation is. Some dreams only feel complete when they are fully realized. They don’t feel fulfilled with just autographs or photographs,”
Mehta concluded.
