Ravindra Jadeja’s father, Anirudhsinh, has spoken out about his strained relationship with his son and his daughter-in-law, Rivaba Jadeja, attributing the discord to Rivaba’s actions.
One of cricket’s most esteemed players, Ravindra Jadeja, affectionately known as ‘Jaddu’ by fans worldwide, has garnered admiration for his exceptional skills on the field. However, behind the scenes, his personal life has been marred by familial tensions, as revealed by his father, Anirudhsinh.
In a recent interview with Divya Bhaskar, Anirudhsinh disclosed that he and his family have no connection with Ravindra or his wife. He lamented the lack of communication between them, highlighting that neither side has reached out to the other.
Anirudhsinh detailed how the rift between them emerged shortly after Ravindra’s marriage, noting that he resides separately from his son in Jamnagar, despite being in the same city. He expressed his dismay, stating that he hasn’t seen his son for a considerable time and attributed this divide to Rivaba’s influence.
“Do you want me to tell you one truth? I have absolutely no relation with Ravindra and his wife, Rivaba. We don’t call them, and they don’t call us. The issues started after two or three months of their marriage. I currently live alone in Jamnagar, while Ravindra resides in a separate bungalow of his own. He lives in the same city, but I don’t get to see him. I don’t know what magic his wife has done on him.”
Furthermore, Anirudhsinh made startling allegations against Rivaba, expressing regret over his son’s marriage and suggesting that life would have been easier if Ravindra had not pursued a career in cricket. He claimed that Rivaba sought to control everything, including demanding property transfers and isolating Ravindra’s family.
“He is my son, and it burns my heart. I wish I hadn’t gotten him married. It would have been better if he hadn’t become a cricketer. We would not have to go through all this in that case.”
Anirudhsinh emphasized that the estrangement has led to bitterness within the family, with no communication or connection. He revealed his anguish at not seeing his granddaughter for nearly five years, attributing the situation to Rivaba’s family’s interference in their lives.
“Within three months of the marriage, she told me that everything should be transferred to her name. She created a rift in our family. She didn’t want Jadeja’s family and desired an independent life. I could be wrong, and Naynaba (Ravindra’s sister) could be wrong, but you tell me, how can all 50 members of our family be wrong? There’s no relation with anyone in the family; there’s just hate.”
“I don’t want to hide anything. We haven’t even seen the face of our granddaughter in five years. Ravindra’s in-laws manage everything. They interfere in everything. They are making merry now because they have got a bank.”
