When Esha Deol Revealed Her Post Marriage Struggles
Following their separation, an excerpt from Esha’s book ‘Amma Mia’ is gaining attention. In it, she mentioned feeling restricted from wearing shorts and tank tops around the house after moving in with Bharat’s family.
Well, in her 2020 book ‘Amma Mia’, Esha talked about the adjustments she had to make after marrying Bharat and moving in with his family. She wrote, “When we got married in 2012, there were many things that changed.” She mentioned, “Of course, once I began living with his family, I couldn’t roam around the house in my shorts and tank tops like I used to.” However, she praised his family, describing them as ‘wonderful’ and saying they welcomed her ‘effortlessly’.
In her book ‘Amma Mia’, Esha Deol also recounted her time in the Takhtani family. She noted how the women there prepared lunch boxes for their husbands, a custom she was unfamiliar with as she hadn’t cooked before marrying Bharat. Despite her lack of experience, her mother-in-law didn’t insist on her doing traditional chores. Esha felt embraced and cherished by her in-laws, who treated her like an integral part of the family.
She also wrote, “In fact, she always tells me that I am like her third son (after Bharat and his brother). And since I was the first bahu in the house, I was pampered rotten. Someone was always sending me chocolate brownies and fruit and cream.”
In an old interview with Filmfare, which is now going viral, Bharat Takhtani spoke highly of Esha Deol and praised her for her care towards his family. He mentioned how Esha takes care of his mother and described her as being very domestic, despite appearing tomboyish outside. Bharat emphasized Esha’s careful and responsible nature, stating that she meets his preferences. He found it adorable that although she didn’t know how to make tea, she made Khow Suey for him the next day.
