Known for his portrayal of Lord Krishna in ‘Mahabharat,’ Nitish Bharadwaj finds himself entangled in a challenging period following his separation from his estranged wife. Recently, he took legal action by filing a complaint against her.
The renowned actor, Nitish Bharadwaj, has encountered turbulent times since his split from his former spouse, Smita Gate.
The couple, who married in 1991 and were blessed with twin daughters, faced a tumultuous turn in their relationship. While Nitish has not openly disclosed the reasons behind their separation, he alluded to ongoing divorce proceedings in court back in 2022.
In a recent development, Nitish Bharadwaj has complained to his estranged wife, alleging mental anguish and obstruction in his attempts to see his daughters.
In his complaint against Smita Gate, an IAS officer, Nitish highlighted the emotional distress caused by her actions. According to a report by Free Press Journal, Nitish initiated divorce proceedings in 2018, yet the matter remains unresolved.
He expressed grievance over his wife’s decision to relocate their daughters’ school without his consent, thereby impeding his visitation rights. Nitish emphasized the adverse effects of this situation on his mental well-being.
Seeking intervention from Bhopal’s police commissioner, Harinarayanachari Mishra, Nitish appealed for assistance in his legal battle and restoration of his visitation rights. Prompt action was taken by the authorities upon receiving his complaint, with an investigating officer, Phalguni Dixit, assigned to delve into the matter further.
This recent legal maneuver comes in the wake of Nitish Bharadwaj’s rare disclosure about his personal life in a 2022 interview with ETimes. Admitting to the divorce proceedings initiated in 2019, he refrained from delving into the specifics of their separation, underscoring the profound emotional toll of divorce. Nitish candidly expressed:
“Yes, I filed for a divorce in the Family Court in Mumbai in September 2019. I do not want to get into the reasons why we separated. The matter is in court right now. All I can say is that sometimes divorce can be more painful than death as you live with an amputated core.”
Aside from the legal battles, Nitish Bharadwaj continues to be celebrated for his iconic portrayal of Lord Krishna in the renowned epic, ‘Mahabharat.’
