Since the release of its trailer Adah Sharma starrer The Kerala Story has been facing criticism over its plot storyline. According to the makers, the movie is said to be based on true incidents; however, they made a few changes that sparked controversy. But even after numerous controversies and heavy backlash, the movie has managed to earn a massive amount at the box office.
Within nine days of its release, the movie successfully entered the Rs 100 crore club. It is quite clear that the controversies didn’t affect the film’s performance in theatres. Moreover, the movie has become the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of the year 2023.
To express her gratitude, the lead actress, Adah Sharma, took to her social media accounts and penned a note for all fans and admirers, and audience. In the post, the actress thanked the audience and stated that they had won. She also added that the film went through a lot of difficulties, yet the masses didn’t stop showing up in theatres. Sharing a still from the movie, she wrote,

Directed by Sudipto Sen, the film is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. Mamata Banerjee, the CM of West Bengal, recently announced the film will not be screened in the state.
The story of the film revolves around three Hindu women who were converted to Islam and were made to join ISIS.
