Recently, a pitcher’s pitch made CarDekho’s co-founder Amit Jain emotional as he remembered his mobility-impaired grandmother.
The pitcher showcased her product, a wheelchair with features that make the mobility-impaired person less dependent on others. The invention by the pitcher also included an inbuilt feces-cleaning system, with the help of which the person using the chair will not need much assistance.
The entrepreneur Shruti, asked for Rs 1 crore for a 10 percent stake in the company. Her objective was to improve the dignity of mobility-impaired people. She also mentioned her battle. It took Shruti and her father over five years to make the wheelchair.
All judges were impressed by her pitch and also lauded her for her creativity, strength, and moral cause. After listening to Shruti’s pitch, Amit Jain got emotional and told his personal story.
Amit revealed caring for his grandmother in the last 10 years of her life. He decided to offer what the pitcher asked for. Anupam Mittal, Peyush Bansal, Aman Gupta, and Namita Thapar joined Amit, and Shruti secured an all-five sharks’ deal.
Anupam even addressed the pitcher a combo of sparks, guts, and hunger.
In recent times, Shark tank India has established itself as one of the best business reality shows in India. When Aman was asked if there would be a future for the show, he said that there are a lot of entrepreneurs in India so obviously the show has a future.
