In Bihar’s Samastipur, a 12-year-old boy demonstrated remarkable presence of mind and averted a potential train accident. Mohammad Shahbaz acted swiftly upon noticing a broken railway track near Bhola Talkies Gumti on the Muzaffarpur railway line. He flagged down the oncoming Howrah-Kothgodam Express using a red towel, effectively alerting the train’s loco pilot to the danger ahead.
Shahbaz, along with his friends, recounted the incident to local reporters, explaining how they managed to prevent a disaster. In a viral video, he described waving the red towel to signal the approaching train to stop, which the loco pilot duly acknowledged.
Indian Railways officials were promptly notified and initiated repair work on the damaged tracks after Shahbaz guided them to the site.
The video, shared by a user on social media platform Samastipur Town, garnered widespread attention with over 41,000 views. Many praised Shahbaz’s courage, suggesting he should be recognized with awards for his bravery at the national level. Subsequently, Shahbaz was indeed honored for his quick thinking and bravery.
