During the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli showcased a notable performance.
Kohli, batting for RCB, remained unbeaten with a score of 83 runs off 59 balls, comprising four fours and four sixes. His innings contributed significantly to RCB’s total of 182 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.
Despite Kohli’s efforts, RCB fell short as KKR clinched victory by seven wickets. Alongside Kohli, Australian players Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell contributed with scores of 33 and 28 runs, respectively, for RCB. Maxwell, who faced early dismissals in the previous matches, redeemed himself with three fours and one six in his 19-ball innings.
Maxwell received a reprieve in the 14th over when Sunil Narine dropped a straightforward catch off Harshit Rana’s delivery. Kohli, who was at the non-striker’s end, couldn’t hide his reaction to Narine’s mistake, which quickly circulated on the internet.

The video captured Kohli clapping in response to Narine’s error, with Maxwell batting at 21 runs from 15 balls at that time. Despite the lifeline, Maxwell fell victim to Narine’s bowling in the next over, attempting a big shot but getting caught by Rinku Singh at third man.
