Virat Kohli found himself disheartened after an unfortunate dismissal during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru were chasing a target of 223. Kohli, who had just started to settle in, fell victim to a surprising full-toss delivery from Harshit Rana, directing it straight back to the bowler. Upon immediate review, it was determined that the delivery was legal as it dipped below Kohli’s hip. This decision left Kohli visibly upset, leading to a heated exchange with the umpire. RCB’s captain, Faf du Plessis, also joined in on the discussion.
The incident has since gained traction on social media, with an animated clip of Virat Kohli‘s reaction circulating widely.
Kohli’s innings came to an end after scoring 18 runs off seven balls, during which he managed to strike two sixes.

Before Kohli’s dismissal, KKR’s captain Shreyas Iyer showcased a remarkable performance, scoring a fifty off 36 balls, his first half-century in the IPL since May 2022. Additionally, Phil Salt and Ramandeep Singh contributed with quick cameos, helping KKR post a formidable total of 222/6 in 20 overs.
Iyer led the charge with seven fours and a six, emerging as the top scorer for KKR, while Salt’s explosive 48 off 14 balls and Ramandeep’s unbeaten 24 off nine balls propelled KKR to their 16th 200+ total of the IPL 2024 season.
Despite efforts from RCB’s Cameron Green and Yash Dayal, who claimed two wickets each, as well as Lockie Ferguson and Mohammed Siraj, who took a wicket apiece, the team struggled in the latter stages, conceding 73 runs off the last five overs.
