During the T20 World Cup 2024 match between Pakistan and the United States at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan had a heated exchange with a fan after being dismissed for a golden duck.
Azam, who has been struggling with his form, was bowled out on his first ball by Nosthush Kenjige immediately after Shadab Khan’s dismissal. As he was returning to the pavilion, he confronted a fan, displaying visible anger before continuing to the pavilion.

Pakistani fans shouted “Mota Haathi” at Azam Khan. Azam was furious.
I agree he is failing continuously but you can’t insult someone on this level. Shame on that fans!#USAvPAK | #T20WorldCup | #WeHaveWeWill pic.twitter.com/MjgRS37wOZ

However, captain Babar Azam and Shadab Khan stabilized the innings with a cautious approach, forming a 72-run partnership that revived Pakistan’s prospects. Shadab was dismissed for 40 runs off 25 balls, and soon after, Azam Khan was out on his first ball, causing the wickets to keep tumbling.
Babar Azam managed to score 44 runs off 43 balls, while Iftikhar Ahmed added 18 runs. Lower down the order, Shaheen Afridi contributed crucial runs, scoring 23 off 16 balls, helping Pakistan reach 159-7 in their allotted overs.
At the toss, USA captain Monank Patel justified his decision to bowl first, citing the ease of chasing based on their previous performance against Canada. “Chasing here is easier,” Patel said. “The way we chased down the total was entertaining. We have momentum and want to continue that. Excited for this challenge.”
