BJP Lok Sabha MP-elect Kangana Ranaut was allegedly slapped by a female CISF constable at Chandigarh Airport on Thursday. Ranaut, who was en route to Delhi, was involved in an altercation with the constable, Kulwinder Kaur, who has since been suspended and an FIR lodged against her, officials reported.
Footage circulating on social media shows Kangana Ranaut moving towards the security check area at the airport, accompanied by her security detail.
An argument appears to have escalated during the frisking process, resulting in the constable allegedly slapping Ranaut. Following the incident, an aide suggested that the altercation may be linked to Ranaut’s controversial comments on the Khalistani movement during the farmers’ protests.

Ranaut had been traveling to Delhi shortly after being elected as a Member of Parliament from the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh, defeating Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh by over 74,000 votes.
A senior CISF officer confirmed that the constable involved in the incident has been suspended, and an investigation is underway.
Vikramaditya Singh, Ranaut’s rival in the recent election, condemned the incident, emphasizing that such actions are unacceptable, especially towards a female MP. He mentioned that the CISF constable had grievances related to the farmers’ protest, but stated that physical assault is unjustifiable and called for governmental action.
