On June 1, YouTuber and influencer Elvish Yadav released a meticulously researched video scrutinizing fellow YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, accusing him of disseminating propaganda and maintaining political affiliations, particularly with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Yadav’s investigation, supported by his team including Vijay Patel (Vijay Gajera) and Engineer Reveals (Gaurav Singh), asserts that Rathee’s claims of political neutrality are misleading.
Elvish Yadav argues that despite Rathee’s assertions of not being associated with any political party, he has longstanding ties with AAP.
Yadav presented evidence, including a 2014 video Rathee made for Arvind Kejriwal and a confirmation from AAP’s social media head in 2017 that Rathee was part of their research team. Additionally, Rathee is credited with creating the song “5 Saal Kejriwal.”
Manipulative Content
Yadav accuses Rathee of selective reporting and presenting incomplete data to manipulate public opinion. He cited instances where Rathee ignored criminal cases against AAP leaders while criticizing BJP leaders, leading to biased narratives.
Alleged Foreign Connections
He further claims that Rathee’s videos align closely with social media posts by Harsh Mander, a member of Sonia Gandhi’s advisory committee. Yadav suggests a coordinated effort to spread misinformation on issues like CAA and NRC, pointing to the timing of their posts and videos. He also highlighted Rathee’s connections with Aadil Aman, an AAP worker with ties to anti-India NGOs and foreign entities.
The Bigg Boss winner criticized Dhruv Rathee for allegedly spreading false information about India’s leadership, including comparing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to dictators and presenting misleading data on electoral bonds and beef exports. Yadav also noted that while Rathee called PM Modi a dictator, he ignored instances of other leaders suppressing dissent.
Personal Attacks and Hypocrisy
Yadav accused Rathee of blocking critics and using bots to suppress opposing views, showcasing traits he labels as dictatorial. He also highlighted attacks on other YouTubers who exposed Rathee’s false narratives, accusing Rathee of being unable to handle criticism.
He also suggested that Rathee’s actions are financially driven, pointing to collaborations with foreign entities like Deutsche Welle and a promotion of a dubious cryptocurrency that resulted in financial losses for his followers.
Controversial Comparisons and Statements
Elvish highlighted Dhruv’s derogatory comments about Hindu symbols and deities, accusing him of provoking communal sentiments. He referenced Rathee’s comparison of Hindus wearing saffron scarves to terrorists and his claim that Bhagwan Ram was a myth.
Elvish Yadav concluded that Rathee’s followers are misled into believing he conducts his own research, whereas much of his content is produced by a team led by Vijeta Dahiya. This, Yadav argues, undermines Rathee’s credibility as an independent content creator.
