Constable Kulwinder Kaur, reportedly upset with Kangana Ranaut over her views on the farmers’ protests, has been suspended and faces an FIR. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has initiated a court of inquiry following the incident at Chandigarh airport, where Kaur allegedly slapped and abused actor and Bharatiya Janata Party MP-elect Kangana Ranaut.
Sher Singh Mahival, a farmer leader and Kaur’s brother, expressed support for his sister.
He reacted to the incident, which took place two days after Ranaut’s election victory in the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh.
“I learned through the media about the incident at Chandigarh airport. It happened during the checking of Kangana’s mobile and purse. Kangana had commented during the farmers’ protest that women were there for ₹100,”
Mahival said.
He added,
“After the argument, my sister must have become emotionally angry, which led to this incident. Both soldiers and farmers are important and are fulfilling their duties in every way. We fully support her in this matter,”
In a social media video, businessman Shivraj Singh Bains from Zirakpur (Mohali) announced a ₹1 lakh reward for Kaur, praising her for defending Punjabi people and culture.
