Bollywood star and the handsome hunk, Vivek Oberoi was recently slammed a fine of ₹500 by Mumbai Police. The fine was set over his shoulders for transgressing traffic regulations. Vivek was seen riding his newly acquired motorbike, without a helmet and a face-mask.
After being imposed a chalaan toh his name, Vivek took a dig to respond on the incident. Describing the incident, Vivek tweeted:
“Pyaar humein kis mod pe le aaya! Nikle they nayi bike par hum aur hamari jaan, bina helmet ke kat gaya chalaan!Riding without a helmet? Mumbai police will do a checkmate!Thank u @mumbaipolice for making me realise that safety is always most important. Be safe, Wear a helmet & a mask (sic).”

On their late-night bike sojourn, the Oberois sportingly allowed many of the excited girls and a boy – all mask-less – to click selfies with them, ironically, against the backdrop of a huge banner proclaiming Covid-19 protocols to be adhered to.

Taking note of the incident, social activist, Binu Varghese tweeted the video and wrote alongwith it:
“Actor Vivek Oberoi flouts traffic safety rules as well as health safety rules by riding a bike without helmet and not wearing a (face) mask. This sends a wrong message to the youth hence he should be fined for the same”
The social activist also tagged the Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, Mumbai Police, BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation and others which led to the e-challan being issued by Asst. Police Inspector Nandkishor Jadhav of Mumbai Traffic Police Santacruz Division.
As Vivek Oberoi was witnessed flouting the Covid-19 regulations as well as traffic orders, he was seperately booked. He did not have a face mask and has been booked separately for violating the pandemic orders and SOPs, officials indicated.
