It seems that Javed Miandad has obviously found a way to become relevant back again in modern cricket as he is caught in the midst of newfound controversy shooting one arrow after the other, hoping to bring India to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. However, at the moment, it all felt like q blank volley with him making the only noise.
Adding some more fuel to fire, former Indian fast bowler, Venkatesh Prasad opened up on the entire debate and it seems like Javed Miandad will have to find a way out to salve his own scars after Prasad’s scathing assault.
According to the secretary of the BCCI, Jay Shah, India will not be heading to Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2023 and the tournament has been sought to be moved to a different and a neutral venue. Reports stated that the tournament was supposed to be shifted to Bahrain, however, any viable decision has so far been deferred.
Here is what Venkatesh Prasad had to say about Javed Miandad
In order to hog the limelight, Javed Miandad took to Youtube and added,
“Main to pehle bhi kehta tha, nahi aate to bhaad mein jaayein, hamein koi fark nahi padta, hamein hamari cricket mil rahi hai. Ye ICC ka kaam hai, ye cheez agar ICC control nahi kar skti, to fir governing body ka koi kaam nahi hai.”
He further added, “ICC should have one rule for every country. If such teams don’t come, no matter how strong they are, you should remove them.”
“Hamare time pe bhi, wo isliye nahi khelte they kyunki harte hain to musibat ho jati hai. Wahan ka crowd ‘nasty hai’. Jab bhi India haarti hai, chaahe kisi se haare, wahan ke jo log hain, wo gharon ko aag laga dete hain. Hamein yaad hai, jab ham khelte they to unke sath museebatein hui hain.”
He concluded by saying,
“Main ICC ko kehta hun ki wo strict action lein. Ek rule and regulation ICC ke paas hona chahiye. Agar koi bhi country is tarah behave karti hai, uske upar action lena chahiye. Aisi teamon ko bahar karo, khud ba khud line pe aa jayenge.”
Venkatesh Prasad added his own wording on the same, stating,
“But they are refusing to go to hell :)”.

Following Prasad, Twitteratti came to the support of the Indian fast bowler and many pointed out that Miandad was Daud Ibrahim’s relative while others firmly highlighted the danger that the cricketers will be placing themselves in if they are heading to Pakistan.
As far as the latest reports stand, UAE is the likeliest contender to host Asia Cup again while Bahrain can also be a possible location to play host to the tournament. Qatar has come forth with the offer of playing a welcome host too but the decision would most likely be taken in March.
