Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and others have made it into Forbes India’s current list of India 100 wealthiest individuals. By 2022, the aggregate wealth of India’s 100 wealthiest had increased by $25 billion (Rs 20316 crore) to $800 billion (Rs 64,96,520 crore), according to the research.
The first spot now belongs to Gautam Adani, while Mukesh Ambani is in second. This year’s list included nine new names, including Falguni Nayar, creator of Nykaa, Rekha Jhunjhunwala, wife of the late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Venu Srinivasan, founder of TVS Group, the Vakil Family, founders of Asian Paints, and Ravi Modi, founder of Vedant Fashion.
Of India’s top 100 wealthiest individuals, nine are women, and five of them became wealthy via their own efforts. As the head of the OP Jindal Group, Savitri Jindal has amassed a net worth of $16.4 billion, making her the wealthiest woman in India (Rs 132,452 crore).

1: Gautam Adani
Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani saw his fortune treble in 2021, propelling him to the position of wealthiest Indian and, for a while, the second-wealthiest person on Earth. Forbes estimates that the 60-year-old industrialist’s wealth is a mind-boggling $150 billion (Rs 1,211,460 crore).
2: Mukesh Ambani
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Ltd, has a net worth of $88 billion (Rs 7,10,723 crore), down 5% from the previous year. This was the first time since 2013 that he has fallen to second place. Adani and Ambani’s combined wealth represents 30 per cent of India’s top 100 fortunes.
3: Radhakishan Damani
With a net worth of $27.6 billion, Radhakishan Damani, owner of the DMart retail chain, has officially entered the top three richest people in the country(Rs 2,22,908 crore). There are now 271 DMart locations around India.
4: Cyrus Poonawalla
Cyrus Poonawalla is the Chairman and Managing Director of the Cyrus Poonawalla Group, which comprises the Serum Institute of India, the biggest vaccine maker in the world, and the fourth-wealthiest Indian with a fortune of $21.5 billion (Rs 1,73,642 crore).
5: Shiv Nadar
Shiv Nadar, 77 years old, has a net worth of $21.4 billion and serves as the Chairman Emeritus of HCL Technologies (Rs 172,834 crore). Despite losing $9.6 billion (Rs 7,79,46 crore) this year, he is still India’s fifth-wealthiest person.
