Recent news is going viral at the speed of light according to which Smriti Irani had warned Sushant Singh Rajput to not take the extreme step. She saw him worried and troubled. When she heard the news of his passing away, she was in the middle of a video conference. She couldn’t digest the news, and immediately called off the conference.
Smriti Irani Wishes Sushant Singh Rajput Had Called Her Before Death
“The day Sushant died, I was on a VC (video conference). There were many people. But I just couldn’t… I said stop it. I felt like, why did he not call me? He should have called once. I had told that boy, ‘Tum yaar maarna mat apne aap ko (Please don’t kill yourself),”
Irani got emotional as she revealed the same to Neelesh Misra on The Slow Interview.
Smriti Irani was worried for Amit Sadh. She feared he might do something “stupid” too.
“Instantly, I was scared for Amit Sadh. I called him and asked him what he is up to. I knew, kuch gadbad karega bachcha (he would do something stupid). Usne mujhe kaha, mujhe nahi rehna, kya kiya iss idiot ne (He told me, I don’t want to live, what did this idiot do) I got the sense that something is wrong. Publicist Rohini Iyer told me, ‘I am very scared, somebody just find him.”
Sushant Singh Rajput and Amit Sadh had worked together in Kai Po Che. The two spoke for two hours. “He asked me, ‘You don’t have work?’ I said, ‘I do, but just let’s talk'”.
Amit Sadh had earlier talked about this concerning call.
“I am very grateful. I have never taken these names but I don’t know how, Smriti Irani found I am in trouble. I got a random call from her, she is like a sister to me. She asked, ‘Kya chal raha hai tere dimaag me?’ It was a 6-hour call. I told her about quitting the industry. I was just fed up and this industry is tough. There was a disappointing time and Covid also played a part. For 3 months I was in the hills,” he said.
Meanwhile, Smriti Irani had seen Sushant Singh Rajput working on the sets adjacent to hers in Mumbai. When she was the I&B minister, she invited him to a masterclass at the IFFI stage with Shekhar Kapur.
