In the fourth Twenty20 International of the series, played in Rajkot, Suryakumar Yadav delivered a brilliant inning, slamming an unbeaten 112 off of only 51 deliveries for India against Sri Lanka.
The India batsman hit nine sixes and seven fours in his blistering performance on Saturday, helping his team win by 91 runs and take the three-game series 2-1 against Sri Lanka. India scored a massive 228-5 in 20 overs thanks to Suryakumar’s excellent batting, while Sri Lanka could only manage 137.
Fans and other players were impressed by Suryakumar’s lightning-quick century; India batting great Virat Kohli even expressed his happiness with his performance on his Instagram story.
The Indian cricket governing body, the BCCI, published Suryakumar’s response to Kohli’s narrative on Sunday, revealing the centurion’s words to the 34-year-old. After seeing that Kohli had shared a photo of Yadav from his century knock accompanied by two fire emojis and two cheering emojis, Yadav smiled and said,
“Oh baba, look who has posted a story!”
Further, Suryakumar, in his reply to Kohli, wrote,
“Bhau, bohot saara pyaar. See you soon (Brother, lots of love. See you soon!)”
Indian captain Hardik Pandya had previously praised Suryakumar Yadav for his spectacular performance after his team’s 91-run victory against Sri Lanka in the third T20I.
On January 10, India will play Sri Lanka in the first of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs), marking the return to action of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli.
