The global Covid-19 pandemic has severely hit many during its tenure and still continues to do so. However, in the beginning, when the advent of the disease was intense and serious, many of the rich and giant business personalities and celebraties donated heavily to the central government in order to financially help the whole nation fight the pandemic. While in the list, many Bollywood celebrities (including Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Varun Dhawan, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bacchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and cricketers like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir etc) have donated huge sums of money, however, a few other common names didn’t pop up in the list. One out of the most common among them was the name of Sonakshi Sinha, the dabangg girl of the Bollywood industry.
Sonakshi for the followimg reason was constantly slammed and accused of not donating by the Indian mass, especially at a time when the country was in grave need of finance to fight the pandemic. Responding to the continuous tweets, Sonakshi tweeted that there are still a lot of people on earth who like to do good stuff and still not boast openly about it (hinting that she is one of them). She called it a personal choice of hers to announce what she donated or whether she even donated or not.
“Minute of silence for trolls who think that just because it wasn’t announced, contributions weren’t made.Neki kar dariya mein daal, suna toh hoga?Kuch log actually follow karte hai!Ab shaant ho jao & use ur time 2 do some actual good(announcing or not is a personal preference),” tweeted the actress.
The actress was heavily trolled after the post yet again with replying images of retelecast of ‘Ramayana’, showcasing her the ‘drama’ behind her reply. She, however, also received support in majority from her family, friends and the industry for the same.
