During a routine Mumbai-Bengaluru flight, SpiceJet faced an unexpected situation when it was discovered that a passenger was stuck inside a malfunctioning toilet.
Despite the crew’s repeated attempts to unlock the door, their efforts proved futile. Recognizing the passenger’s distress, the crew composed a note, assuring the individual that they had exerted their best efforts to resolve the issue.
The written message, which has since gained attention on social media, conveyed,
“Sir, we tried our best to open the door. However, we could not open it. Do not panic, we are landing in a few minutes. So please close the commode lid and sit on it to secure yourself. As soon as the main door is open, an engineer will come. Do not panic.”
The passenger was ultimately freed upon the plane’s arrival in Bengaluru, thanks to the intervention of an engineer who successfully unlocked the door. Unfortunately, the passenger had endured over an hour of confinement by that time. S
SpiceJet promptly provided medical attention to the individual after the rescue.
In an official statement, SpiceJet expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the passenger due to the malfunctioning door lock. The airline assured that the full airfare would be refunded as a gesture of goodwill.
