Recently, a 23-year-old boy created history in the world of cricket. Shubman Gill smashed his maiden double-century against New Zealand at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
The crowd couldn’t stop cheering as the youngster hit three consecutive sixes to become the youngest-ever batsman to reach this milestone in the 50-over format of the game.

He scored 19 fours and 8 sixes in his 204-run knock and has joined the list of one of the greatest players of all time- Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, and Ishan Kishan.
Shubman was backed by Rohit Sharma as he was selected in the ODI playing XI against Sri Lanka replacing Ishan Kishan who had scored a double hundred against Bangladesh.
The young batsman didn’t let any opportunity go in vain as he scored a century and a half-century in the series and was the second-highest run-scorer after King Kohli.
Shubman Gill started from where he had left in his previous match and went on to create history.
He is the youngest-ever batsman to score a double hundred in limited-overs cricket. He has also surpassed Virat Kohli to become the fastest player to score 1000 runs in this format.
Former cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Wasim Jaffer, and Irfan Pathan have lauded the youngster for his record-breaking knock against the Kiwis.

His flabbergasting knock helped India put up 349 runs on the board against the Kiwis in the series opener.
Everyone was expecting another century from Virat Kohli but that couldn’t happen as the star batsman was bowled by Santner for just 8 runs. Shubman Gill didn’t let the crowd get down as he put up a mind-blowing show in Hyderabad.
