Shubman Gill’s struggle in Test cricket persists, with his highest score for India being 36 since March 2023. Following his early dismissal, scoring only 23 runs off 66 balls on day 2 of the 1st Test between India and England in Hyderabad, fans took to social media to troll the star opener.

There is no doubt that Shubman Gill has potential but he is missing consistency in Test.
He has had two, three big innings but all have come on flat pitches and if we remove them then he has nothing to show in his career. pic.twitter.com/nSFlCFOO6S

Shubman Gill‘s batting woes have been evident over the past ten Test innings, where he has failed to reach the fifty-run mark.
His last century, a score of 128 runs, dates back to March 2023 during a match against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Since then, Gill has encountered difficulties in achieving significant runs in Test cricket.
In the subsequent 11 innings after his century in Ahmedabad, Gill’s highest score in Test cricket for India has been limited to 36 runs, underscoring his prolonged period of struggle in the red-ball format.
The social media trolling intensified following Gill’s recent performances, including scores of 13 runs, 18 runs, 6 runs (11 balls), 10 runs (12 balls), 29* runs (37 balls), 2 runs (12 balls), 26 runs (37 balls), 36 runs (55 balls), 10 runs (11 balls), and 23 runs (66 balls) in the current IND vs ENG 1st Test on Day 2.
Despite Gill’s struggles, at lunch on Day 2, India stood at 222/3, trailing England by 24 runs. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer managed to stabilize the team after early dismissals, forming an unbroken 63-run partnership.
