The date of Pathaan’s digital premiere was announced by streamer Amazon Prime Video on Monday. However, Shah Rukh Khan chose to promote the film’s premiere on the OTT platform in a hilarious video.
Recently, King Khan shot a promotional video with YouTube sensation and comedian, Bhuvan Bam. In the video, he took a dig at the traditional ways of promoting a movie.
The video starts as Shah Rukh recreats Pathaan’s dialogue,
“Apni kursi ki peti baandh lo” but he soon gets frustrated. He tells Bhuvan,
“Kya yaar ye, aap film ke dialogues kyun use karte ho promotion mein, kuch naya kyun nahi sochte ho? (Why do you guys use the dialogues of the film in promotion? Why can’t you think of something new?)
SRK then asks Bhuvan to think of something innovative to promote the digital premiere of Pathaan. But he gets annoyed as the YouTube sensation addresses him with his popular names like “King of Bollywood”, “King of Romance”, “King of Hearts,” and tells him,
“Ye audience ko pasand nahi aayega (The audience will not like this) Think of something new.”
Bhuvan comes up with different versions of promoting the movie but SRK isn’t satisfied. “Tumse nahi hoga ye, tum jaao camera roll karo (You cannot do this. You just go and roll the camera) I will show you.”
The DDLJ actor then poses in style, shows off his well-toned muscles, and says,
“Pathaan dekhiye, sirf Prime Video par (Watch Pathaan on Prime Video).” Bhuvan appreciates the actor’s simple attempt and adds sarcastically, “This was too fresh.”
