Ever since Pathaan’s debut song Besharam Rang starring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan was released, it has only drawn criticism. From being called names because of the explicit content to being called names because of the color of her bikini, Saffron has it all. Sanjay Raut, a senior in the Shiv Sena, has now spoken out against the Bharatiya Janata Party and discussed the backlash to the song Besharam Rang by Pathaan. Take a look down below for the lowdown.
The Shiv Sena chief believes the BJP is trying to deflect attention from national problems by targeting Deepika Padukone over her appearance in Besharam Rang.
In his weekly column for the Saamana, Rokthok, Sanjay Raut criticized the party for objectifying people and things based on their skin tone.
When a lady in Delhi was pulled by a vehicle and her damaged corpse was recovered without any clothing on the road, the Shiv Sena leader wrote about how the BJP began morally policing Uorfi Javed on how she looks and what she wears. The comment he just made was an allusion to the political party’s attempt to divert attention away from the seriousness of the situation.
He said,
“Agar bhagve (saffron) ka sawal hai toh BJP ke kayi neta hai jo kalakar hai, unhone filmo mein bhagve kapdo mein dance kiya hai. Censor board aapki cuttputli hai toh aapne bhi scene kaat diya. Isiliye kaat diya kyunki woh Shah Rukh Khan ki film hai. Iss desh mein agar hum mante hai yahan loktantra (democracy) hai toh sabhi swatantra (independent and free) hai.”
Sanjay Raut further added, “Agar parde par koi nanga nach ho raha ho toh aap nirnay le sakte hai lekin sirf us vastra ka colour bhagva hai aur aapne use nikal diya toh galat hai. Usse pehle aapke saath jo kalakar aapse jure hai unhone uss colour ke kapde mein bhi dance kia hai.”
Well, Pathaan is all ready to debut on January 25, 2023, and even after all these debates, and a 10 min edit, we are thrilled to see the film.
