If you are a true Indian Cricket admirer, you must be aware of the fact that both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma never miss any chance to defend their teammates outside the ground. Fans have seen this quite a lot of times when in a press conference, they have been asked about someone’s poor performance and they have backed the player. Virat and Rohit have indeed set an example of leading their country and they never let any criticism from their teammates go unanswered.
Recently, during the press conference just a couple of days ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Rohit Sharma was asked if his team had become overconfident, and for the same reason they had lost the third Test match.
The reporter quoted Ravi Shastri’s comment in the press conference.
Earlier, in the commentary box, Ravi Shastri had said that team India lost the match because they had become overconfident after winning the first two Test matches against Australia.
However, Rohit Sharma came up with a strong reply to the former cricketer’s statement as he calls Shastri’s comments as “rubbish” and emphasized that the team wants to do their best in all the matches and winning two matches won’t make them overconfident.
The Indian skipper went on to say that the former cricketers speak too much from outside the dressing room without knowing what conversation is happening inside amongst the players.
He also added that after listening to Ravi Shastri’s statement, he could only say that they are being “ruthless”. Rohit added that team India doesn’t “want to give an inch to the opposite team”.
