As the world is enjoying Christmas and New Year Holidays, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak recently volunteered himself at a shelter home to serve food to people in need.
The UK PM was spotted working in the soup kitchen and serving hot meals to the people and also had a brief conversation with them. However, one particular conversation is going viral on the internet, and he is being trolled for the same.
A video of PM Sunak serving a homeless man is doing the rounds on social media where he is seen asking the poor guy if he works in business. To this, the man ends up saying, ”No, I’m homeless. I’m a homeless person” and further says that he is interested in business. Rishi Sunak went on to ask the man what kind of business he would be interested in doing.
Both of them then have brief chat about the finance sector. Later, Sunak asks him about his weekend plans.
The homeless man then solemnly replied that he would like to get through Christmas and hopefully get provided with food and shelter. The video ended up dividing the internet into two groups. People believed it was ‘excruciating’ to watch the conversation.
Labour’s Deputy Leader Angela Rayner shared the video and wrote,
”“Do you work in a business?” “No, I’m homeless. I’m a homeless person.” Excruciating.”

Although many people shared her opinions, there were also quite a few who defended the UK PM.
Many were of opinion that Rishi Sunak treated the homeless man with dignity by carrying the conversation forward. One netizen wrote, ”Don’t mock him please for trying to show support and helping someone, trying to have a conversation with someone like here is hugely challenging, try it!”.

I don't think that "Do you work in business? " is the issue. The real issue is: that gentleman not having a place to sleep or a family to spend Christmas with, PM ignores him completely and doesn't offer anything. I'd like to offer that man a bed & family to spend Christmas with

He’s trying but has absolutely nothing in common with anyone who isn’t a millionaire

This is not a video to score political points. I appreciated the way @RishiSunak dealt with it. He wasn’t patronising a homeless person and communicated with him giving him the dignity every person deserves.

Agree. But… he’s doing something worthwhile. Give him credit for that at least?
