Producers of the next film starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, Shehzada, have delayed its release date “out of respect” for Shah Rukh Khan’s smash hit Pathaan.
Reports indicate that since its January 25 release, the SRK–Deepika Padukone movie Pathaan has been an unstoppable force at the box office, with audiences going nuts.
The romantic comedy Shehzada, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, was set for release on February 10 to coincide with Valentine’s Day. Shehzada’s original release date has been pushed back to February 17 due to scheduling conflicts.
Shehzada’s producers announced Monday through a press release that the film will not be released on the originally planned date.
Shehzada is directed by Rohit Dhawan and has a cast that includes, in addition to Kartik and Kriti, Manisha Koirala, Ronit Roy, Paresh Rawal, and Sachin Khedekar. The next Bollywood film will also serve as Kartik Aarya’s directorial debut.
After delivering the hit that was Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik Aaryan will appear in a completely new role in Shehzada. The next Hindi film, an authentic replica of the Telugu classic Ala Vaikunthapurramloo featuring south superstar Allu Arjun, would have Karthik executing action-packed sequences and mouthing humorous lines, unlike any of his previous films.
Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, has been a huge financial success. Despite widespread criticism, the movie made nearly 500 crores in only five days.
