Most people are aware of the fact that Reena Roy was a huge star in the 1970s. The veteran Bollywood actress is still remembered for her remarkable work in films and iconic songs that continue to win millions of hearts even today. However, Reena has stayed away from the limelight in the last few years ever since Sonakshi Sinha made her debut. People can’t help but notice Sonakshi’s astounding resemblance to Roy.
Reena Roy finally breaks the silence on Sonakshi’s resemblance to her. In an interview, she said, this is merely a coincidence of life. sometimes this happens. For instance, Jeetuji’s (Jeetendra) mother and her mother looked like twin sisters,
revealed Reena.
Having said that, in Shatrughan Sinha’s memoir, producer Pahlaj Nihalani revealed that Reena and Shatrugan Sinha were emotionally involved with each other back then.
Reena Roy had given Sinha an ultimatum to make up his mind and marry her or else she would get married to someone else in eight days. At that time, Shatrughan was already married to Poonam.
The filmmaker had revealed that after ‘Hathkadi’ he wanted to cast Reena, Shatrughan, and Sanjeev Kumar in his next film. But Reena refused his offer and said that she would do the film only if Sinha made up his mind to marry her. If he didn’t marry her, she would get married to someone else in eight days. As expected, Sinha could not marry her.
When Pahlaj conveyed the message to Shatrughan, he was in tears. He called her up and cried like a baby because he was allegedly in love with her. Pahlaj also revealed in this memoir that this was the first time he saw Shatrugan Sinha cry. It was then that the producer told Sinha to let her go and get married.
Reena Roy married Mohsin Khan and moved to Pakistan then, thus, taking a break from films. Reena is blessed with a daughter, and she left acting so she could take care of her while she was growing up.
In a recent interview, Reena said that her daughter is now 26 and she is interested in acting. But she won’t wear a bikini and do kissing scenes because Reena also never did that. She isn’t conservative but she just doesn’t feel the need to do such things.
