On Thursday, actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut was allegedly slapped by CISF personnel at Chandigarh airport. Following the incident, Ranaut assured everyone of her safety and released a statement condemning the violence.
Raveena Tandon’s Strong Statement
Raveena Tandon, who was recently cleared in a road rage case, posted a heartfelt message on her Instagram stories on June 7. She wrote,
In a world where public scrutiny is relentless, it is essential to remember that women achievers are human too. Disparaging them solely for their fame is unfair and harmful.” She continued, “This increasing violence against women and children worldwide needs to be addressed urgently. It’s time we stand united against violence and hooliganism.”
Details of the Incident
The CISF constable involved, Kulwinder Kaur, was detained and suspended following a complaint by Kangana Ranaut at Indira Gandhi airport.
Kangana took to her Instagram Stories to criticize the industry’s silence on the incident. She wrote,
“All eyes on Rafah Gang this can happen to you or your children as well…When you celebrate a terror attack on someone be ready for the day it comes back to you as well.”
Kangana’s Statement
In her statement, Kangana reassured everyone of her safety and raised concerns about “terrorism” in Punjab.
“Namastey dosto! I have been getting a lot of phone calls from the media and my well-wishers. I am safe, I am perfectly fine. What happened at the Chandigarh airport today was during the security check. When I left after the security check, the CISF personnel hit me on my face. She abused me. When I asked her why she did it, she told me that she supports farmers’ protests. I am safe but my concern is, how do we handle terror in Punjab?”
Kangana, running as a BJP candidate, recently won the Lok Sabha seat from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, defeating Congress’ seasoned politician, Vikramaditya Singh, by over 74,000 votes.
