Poonam Pandey has once again captured attention with a mysterious social media post prompting criticism from netizens for deleting a video aimed at raising awareness about cervical cancer.
The model found herself during a trending topic when her manager, Parul Chawla, confirmed reports of her demise due to cervical cancer. However, just 24 hours after the heartbreaking news circulated on February 3, 2024, a video surfaced on Poonam’s Instagram, depicting her seated and discussing the issue.
In the video, the 32-year-old clarified that she orchestrated her own death as part of a campaign to shed light on cervical cancer. However, the unconventional approach faced significant backlash from netizens and even drew criticism from fellow celebrities.
Now, after a fortnight of simulating her own demise, Poonam has reignited curiosity by posting a cryptic message on her Instagram account.
The simple line, “The truth shall be revealed soon,”
accompanied by her post, has sparked a flurry of comments from followers, many expressing skepticism and frustration.
Among the criticisms, one user accused Poonam of “creating drama,” while another questioned the authenticity of any forthcoming revelation, stating, “We don’t want to hear any fake truth.” Moreover, there were remarks directed at her decision to remove both videos related to cervical cancer awareness, with one user noting, “She literally deleted everything about that cervical cancer.”
Adding fuel to the controversy, a report from Pinkvilla revealed that Poonam Pandey is facing a defamation lawsuit of Rs. 100 crore for her staged death. Filed by Faizan Ansari, the lawsuit alleges that Poonam’s actions trivialized serious illnesses like cervical cancer, causing emotional distress to many.
In response to the unfolding events, Poonam Pandey’s estranged husband, Sam Bombay, expressed his feelings in an interview with Hindustan Times. He admitted feeling nothing upon hearing the news of her supposed death but emphasized his continued support and prayers for her well-being.
“When I heard the news, I felt nothing in my heart. There was no sense of loss. And I thought this can’t be. Why do I feel nothing? Because when you’re connected, you feel everything. I think about her (Poonam Pandey) every day. And, I pray for her every day. If something was wrong, I’d know.”
