Ankita Lokhande, a prominent figure in the Indian television industry known for her roles in popular dramas like Pavitra Rishta, has been expanding her horizons into the world of cinema. Recently, during a press conference for the upcoming film ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’, where she stars alongside Randeep Hooda, Ankita shared an interesting tidbit about her co-star’s reaction to her casting.
In the conference held on March 11, 2024, Ankita Lokhande disclosed that Randeep Hooda, who also serves as the film’s director, initially hesitated to cast her in the role of ‘Yamunabai Savarkar’ because he felt she was too beautiful for the character.
According to Ankita, Hooda expressed his reservations, stating,
“He told me, ‘I don’t think I want you in the film. You are too pretty for the character'”
Ankita further elaborated that Hooda had conducted extensive research on the life of Swatantra Veer Savarkar and had a clear vision for the roles he wanted to cast. Despite his initial hesitation, Ankita eventually secured the role and the film is scheduled for release on March 22, 2024, in both Hindi and Marathi.
