In the midst of the current buzz surrounding Tripti Dimri’s outstanding performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, it has come to light that she wasn’t the original choice for the role of Zoya in the film.
According to information from Filmfare, Sara Ali Khan, the daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, was among the actors who auditioned for the character during the casting process.
Insider reports suggest that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga initially favored Sara Ali Khan for the role of Zoya in Animal. However, the dynamics shifted when Tripti Dimri auditioned for the part.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga was reportedly impressed by Tripti’s audition, believing that she perfectly captured the essence of the character. Consequently, Tripti landed the role, and Sara Ali Khan didn’t make the final cut.
Animal stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, with Anil Kapoor playing his father and Rashmika Mandanna as his wife. Tripti Dimri’s character plays a crucial role in the second half, serving as a parallel romantic interest for Ranbir’s character.
While the film has faced criticism for its controversial narrative, Tripti’s performance has received praise for her portrayal of a complex character.
