With social media becoming a prominent part of our lives, we can easily witness the daily routine of her person especially celebs through their respective postings on social media handles. Netizens hardly hold back from giving their opinions on anything and most of the time end up being insensitive when it comes to renowned celebrities and prominent figures.
These often make these celebrities skeptical about posting an out-of-the-box picture. Recently, social media sensation Mrunal Thakur uploaded beach pictures on her Instagram, while most people were amazed by the pictures some didn’t take the post well.
Mrunal Thakur’s evolution on the professional front
Mrunal revealed she understands the demand of the character. From working in television to stepping into the film industry, which gave her immense fame and popularity. Her most recent box-office hit is the Telugu romantic drama, Sita Ramam (2022). Her personal evolution has also been equally remarkable.
“[Earlier], I said no to a lot of films because they had kissing scenes and romantically-inclined sequences. I don’t regret that decision, but at that time, I used to find it inappropriate. Today, I understand it’s the demand of the character. For instance, if my character is a bad girl, I have to play it convincingly. That’s my job”
This understanding that she has to certain things according to the character assigned whether good or evil has made her more assured, both as an artist and a person. However, a section of the audience still fails to understand the distinction between an on-screen fictional character and the actor playing it.
Mrunal Thakur confessed that she is afraid to put pictures on social media
Recently, Thakur put up beach pictures on her Instagram where she was spotted wearing a vibrant blue bikini and was trolled for it.
While her admirers have showered her with compliments, unfortunately, some netizens resorted to regressive comments. They remarked that they were disappointed to see her in a bikini after she stunned everyone in a saree in Sita Ramam.
Sarcastic response to trolls over her bikini pictures
Thakur chose sarcasm to hit back at them. She laughed and said,
“What do I do? I have made my peace with it. Next time, I promise all those people that I will wear a saree and swim. In fact, I was wearing a saree, and it came [undone] while I was swimming. I am so sorry that the saree came [undone]. That should have been my caption”
Such insensitivity on the part of her so-called fans is one of the drawbacks of being a public figure. They also make one realize that the audience can be judgmental and can push an actor into the box of fears that they have worked hard to overcome.
“I am so afraid to put up a picture because no matter whether I am covered or not, people will morph it. We are all victims of that. It’s disheartening, but at the same time, I will not stop living my life. People should be a little sensitive because we are doing our job”
