Well, this top-grosser international movie named 50 shades of grey faced the outrage of the Indian censor board due to understandable reasons. But now this steamy bold film can be streamed on a popular OTT platform i.e Netflix. We do not recommend you to watch this film with your parents and the reasons are very obvious.
WATER – YOUTUBE
David Hamilton, a Canadian producer’s movie named Water is surprisingly an international film. John Abraham is playing the main lead in this film. John is popular for choosing scripts that have impactful stories example Madras cafe, Parmanu, and No Smoking.
The story of Water revolves around the life of a Banarasi widow and her struggles, how she’s ill-treated for no fault of hers and how she finds new love. However, The film’s shooting was banned due to protests by Hindu fundamentalists. But now the movie is available on YouTube and is a must-watch.
THE DA VINCI CODE – NETFLIX
Surprisingly, The Da Vinci Code was only banned from a few states in India. However, it can now be streamed across the country on Netflix. Following a huge backlash by Christian minorities in the country, the film was banned from the states of Goa, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Nagaland, and Punjab. It will now be available on Netflix.
THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO – YOUTUBE MOVIES
Indian Censor Board demanded that the scenes of obscenity, rape, and torture should be removed from the movie named the girl with the dragon tattoo but the director David Fincher denied and the film got banned from theatres.
The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo can be binged on YouTube, with a minimum number of cuts.
INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM – AMAZON PRIME VIDEO
The ban was imposed on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom as the movie portrayed Hinduism, Indian culture, and traditions negatively. However, later on, the ban was lifted. The movie can now be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
