Recently, Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfiee opened up to a disastrous day 1 collection. Even though the fans were expecting it to be good, it failed to impress the audience.
While reporting the same a news media quoted Akshay as a ‘male version’ of Kangana and the actress posted a series of tweets slamming them. Moreover, Kangana feels this is also because of Karan Johar.
Kangana says she is being dragged out for no reason in Akshay’s failure.
Kangana tweeted,
“Meanwhile Karan Johar ki film ne 10 lakh bhi nahi kamaye, lekin media wale na uska naam use kar rahe hain na uske production ka naam, jiss film se mera koi lena dena nahi uska flop hone ka reason bhi mujhe bataya ja raha hai. Wah bhai Karan Johar wah!!”

Selfie was released on February 24 and is an official Hindi remake of the Malayalam comedy-drama Driving Licence which starred Prithviraj Sukumaran, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Deepti Sati, and Miya George in prominent roles. The original film was released in 2019 and was a super hit at the box office.
Recently in an interview with AajTak, the show’s host made a point to Akshay that none of his films has worked after his mother’s demise.
“Aaj aapke paas naam hai, shohrat hai, bangla hai, par maa nahi hai. The actor who lost his mother in 2021 teared up and said ‘chal, aage chal (move on)’.
The host uncomfortably asked again what her mother would have told him if she saw his failing films. Akshay to which replied,
“Unki ek badi famous line hai, ‘Fikr nahi kar puttar, babaji tere naal hai’ (She had a famous line, ‘Don’t worry son, God is with you’).”
Akshay in the same interview was also asked if his son Aarav is in plans to join showbiz, to which he responded
“Usko shauq nahi hai. Main bas chahta hu ke wo khush rahe (He is not interested. I just want my son to be happy).”
On the work front, Akshay has OMG 2, Capsule Gill, Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Hera Pheri 3 and an Untitled remake of Soorarai Pottru in pipeline. Kangana, on the other hand, will soon be seen in films like Tejas, Emergency, Noti Binodini, and Chandramukhi 2.
