The gangs of Wasseypur fame Manoj Bajpayee has come a long way in entertainment industry and established himself as one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood.
However, his journey was nothing less than a rollercoaster ride, and in a recent interview, the actor talked about how he was forced to do filthy movies because he needed to support his family.
In the interview that is going viral, the actor revealed that after Pinjar in 1971, he felt he was finished. He went on to reveal that he had to do dirty movies just to keep his family running.
Later, actors like Irrfan Khan and Kay Kay Menon were everyone’s first choices and he was discarded. He further stated that he was nowhere, down, and out.
In the same interview, Manoj went on to reveal that he made enemies by saying no to producers. He stated that people were approaching him with roles that he didn’t want to play, so he rejected them.
However, this hurt a lot of people’s egos at that time, and he said that with every “no,” he was making more and more enemies in the industry. He further added that they offered him a suitcase full of money and that saying no to them and that kind of amount was the “toughest” task for him.
Raj & DK’s popular web series, The Family Man, revived Manoj’s career. His recent release, Gulmohar, received a lot of appreciation from the critics, fans and the audience as well. It also marked the comeback of veteran actress Sharmila Tagore on screens. The film was released on OTT on March 3, 2023.
