Comedian Sunil Pal recently criticized Bigg Boss 17 winner and stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui in an interview with Times Now, referring to him as a “Kalank (stigma).”
Sunil Pal expressed his dissatisfaction with Faruqui’s comedy, questioning how he could be considered an artist.
“Yeh log kalank hai. Kis angle se inhe main artiste kahu (He is like a stigma to the comedy industry. From which angle do I call them artists?) I have listened to comedians like Umar Shaikh, Johnny Lever, K K Naikar, and Moin Akhtar. I have also listened to Kapil Sharma’s comedy when he was at his best. Toh main in tucche logo ko kaise pasant kar lu (So how can I like comedians like these)? If you are good, I would appreciate it and become your fan,”

Pal stated.
Sunil Pal has been vocal in his criticism of contemporary comedians.
Recently, he also condemned Sunil Grover’s comedy on Kapil Sharma’s show, labeling it as “cheap.”
Sunil Pal accused Grover of portraying women in a desperate manner through his mimicry and described his act of sitting on people’s laps as “vulgar.” “Sunil Grover acts like a woman in the show and sits on people’s lap. It is so disgusting. He wears women’s clothes and says vulgar things. It doesn’t seem good. It looks vulgar and cheap,” Pal told Telly Talk India.
For the uninitiated, Sunil Grover recently reunited with Kapil Sharma for Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show, where he performs as a female character named ‘Dafli’. Grover has previously portrayed female characters like Gutthi and Rinku Devi on Kapil’s shows.
In addition to criticizing Grover, Sunil Pal also took to Instagram to express his approval of Kapil Sharma wrapping up The Great Indian Kapil Show. In a video, Pal argued that Kapil is more suited to television than OTT platforms, stating
Achha hai aapka show band ho raha hai. You are not an OTT artist. Aap TV ke, ghar ghar ke artist ho,” he said.
, “It’s good that your show is ending. You are not an OTT artist. You are an artist for TV and household audiences.”
